Design Engineer

The Design Engineer is responsible for creating the visual composition and design for iMatrix clients.
Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Create visually stunning website skins
• Coordinate with Development, Marketing, Sales and Brand Development departments to launch new tools and marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• Background in traditional graphic and UI design with professional experience in both web and print.
• Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator with a high proficiency in Dreamweaver, Flash, and InDesign.
• Strong experience preparing graphics for web interface and online distribution. Additional experience with CSS Sprites a plus.
• Hand coding of 100% Valid CSS and XHTML with the ability to implement and modify JavaScript as necessary.
• Strong knowledge of cross-browser CSS support with the ability to achieve 99.5% browser consistency without using hacks or browser specific css. The occasional use of IE conditional comments is acceptable.
• Strong ability to conceptualize, design, and build-out “tableless” interface designs where the content is dynamically generated, semi-modular, and liquid in nature.
• Experience building pure CSS/XHTML dropdown menus based on nested unordered lists.
• Strong work ethic with timely execution of tasks, absolute attention to detail, and the ability to work well within a team environment.
